Supporting Community Health Priorities
About the RoleThis position plays a key role in supporting the ongoing health promotion priorities for a rural health service.
The successful candidate will engage and collaborate with local stakeholders and community to develop, deliver, and evaluate health promotion activities. They will identify population health trends and emerging health needs using various methods, including statistical data analysis, research, and consultation.
The role involves planning, coordinating, implementing, and evaluating health promotion initiatives across all areas of the health service's catchment through a holistic approach to maintaining and improving health and preventing illness. This includes recognizing the physical, mental, social, cultural, spiritual, and environmental aspects that impact on population health and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- To support the ongoing health promotion priorities for a rural health service
- Engage and collaborate with local stakeholders and community to develop, deliver, and evaluate health promotion activities
- Identify population health trends and emerging health needs using various methods, including statistical data analysis, research, and consultation
Requirements
- Tertiary qualification in health promotion, public health, community development, or a related field
- Demonstrated skills in planning, implementing, and evaluating primary prevention strategies
- Demonstrated experience in leading projects and delivering education in a range of health promotion areas
