About the role

The Continuous Improvement Manager is responsible for driving short-term, high-impact operational improvements across the business. This role will identify, lead, and deliver initiatives that reduce costs, improve efficiency, strengthen engineering capabilities, and enhance operational performance.

Working closely with and across Operations, Engineering, Commercial, and other functional teams, the role ensures rapid execution of improvement projects that align with strategic priorities while delivering measurable value to the business.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Continuous Improvement & Operational Excellence

    Identify, prioritize, and deliver short-term improvement projects across all business functions.

    Analyse processes, workflows, and systems to identify cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.

    Apply Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to eliminate waste and improve quality.

    Facilitate problem-solving workshops and develop action plans to address operational challenges.

  2. Cost Optimization

    Review operational spend and identify opportunities for savings without compromising service levels or safety.

    Negotiate with suppliers and service providers for better value.

    Collaborate with Finance to track and report realized savings.

  3. Operational Improvements

    Work with site managers and operations teams to implement best practice processes.

    Monitor performance metrics and introduce changes to improve productivity, service delivery, and safety outcomes.

    Champion standardization across sites to ensure consistency and scalability.

  4. Engineering Capability Enhancement

    Partner with Engineering to identify capability gaps and improvement opportunities in maintenance, asset utilization, and project delivery.

    Support the implementation of technology and automation to enhance operational performance.

    Drive initiatives that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.

  5. Change Management & Stakeholder Engagement

    Engage with stakeholders at all levels to gain buy-in for improvement initiatives.

    Communicate clearly on project objectives, progress, and results.

    Provide training and coaching to support adoption of new processes.

  6. Reporting & Governance

    Maintain an improvement project register and track delivery against timelines, budgets, and benefits.

    Provide regular updates to the GM – Operations and Executive team on progress, risks, and outcomes.

    Develop and present post-project reviews to capture lessons learned.
