This role is pivotal in driving category leadership, digital shelf excellence, and conversion-led initiatives that outpace market growth. You'll own thePerfect Digital Shelf strategy and champion execution that elevates visibility, relevance, and conversion across digital touchpoints.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Category Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement eCategory strategies tailored to each retailer's digital ecosystem (eGrocery, pure play, and rapid delivery)
  • Shape assortment and placement recommendations across all active categories and channels leverage data and insights
  • Identify growth drivers to improve category penetration and shopper conversion online
  • Lead performance reviews and category updates with key retail partners
  • Stay informed of emerging eCommerce trends, shopper behaviours, and retailer platform updates
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform agile category tactics

Digital Shelf Optimization

  • Drive execution of the Perfect Digital Shelf framework across platforms
  • Monitor and optimize digital shelf metrics: visibility, availability, content health, and search performance
  • Identify and implement action plans to improve discoverability and conversion
  • Audit and improve digital shelf performance using scorecards and benchmarking tools

Data & Analytics

  • Analyse data from platforms like Profitero, Data Impact, and Syndigo to uncover opportunities and threats
  • Leverage digital shelf analytics and demand forecasting tools to anticipate seasonal and trend-driven shifts
  • Share actionable eCommerce insights to inform Omni-Channel category recommendations

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with cross functional teams to ensure consistency between in-store and online execution
  • Work with internal teams to ensure accurate syndication and data quality via PIM and eCommerce platforms
  • Stay informed of emerging eCommerce trends, shopper behaviors, and retailer platform updates and present back to senior leaders within the organization.
Qualifications

About you:

Education, qualifications and training

  • Tertiary qualification in marketing / commerce economics / business (or equivalent)

Essential Experience / Job Knowledge

  • 3–5 years' experience in Category Management, Digital Marketing, eCommerce, or Retail.
  • Consumer-First and Category-First mindset with strong analytical skills with the ability to translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Preferable experience with Digital Shelf and retail analytics tools (e.g., Profitero, Data Impact, Edge, NielsenIQ).
  • Understanding of PIM systems and product data syndication is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Commercial acumen and a passion for delivering growth in the online retail space.

Preferable Experience / Job Knowledge

  • Experience with syndicated research shopper data sources (eg. Shopper Intelligence)
  • Strong experience in activating analytical insights and research with internal stakeholders & customers for tangible commercial results
