The Position

The Manager - Child Safety and Wellbeing will lead and manage a small team to deliver high-quality, evidence-informed policy analysis related to the rights, safety and wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. This includes a focus on actions to address the overrepresentation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out-of-home care as well as cross-cutting issues relating to the social determinants of health and wellbeing

We Are Looking For Someone Who
  • Has strong writing skills, including developing reports, submissions and papers, and has demonstrated capacity to research, analyse, understand and write concisely about complex social policy issues
  • Demonstrates capability to work effectively to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander leaders to progress policy outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
  • Has previous experience in management in policy development, social research and/or advocacy
  • Has strong experience in project management including the ability to work collaboratively with project stakeholders, develop and implement project work plans and meet deadlines
  • Is a great analytical thinker, and a leader who can connect the dots and build a strong evidence base for policy and advocacy.
