The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Vehicle Buyer & Warranty Consultant to join our team and play a vital role across two key operational areas – vehicle procurement and warranty support.
In this unique position, you'll be responsible for sourcing vehicles from auctions and other suppliers nationwide to meet the dismantling needs of our National operations. At the same time, you'll support our customers by managing warranty claims and providing over-the-phone assistance to troubleshoot faulty products
Role Responsibilities
- Review and assess online auction listings to determine vehicle suitability for dismantling
- Ensure purchasing transparency by completing a Bid Buddy valuation for every vehicle acquired
- Optimise part selection using available data at the point of valuation
- Achieve gross margin targets through strategic vehicle and part selection, aligned with guidance from the Reclaimed Operations Manager
- Maintain accurate records and supporting documentation to enable timely capture and processing of acquired vehicles into ACM Parts systems
- Prepare daily, weekly and ad hoc reports
- Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in processes and customer outcomes
- Assist customers with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues related to faulty products
- Provide clear, step-by-step solutions over the phone to help resolve product concerns
- Apply sound judgment when assessing faulty products and determining appropriate outcomes
- Process all warranty paperwork accurately to ensure proper documentation and compliance
- Use manufacturer parts catalogues to verify compatibility and determine product interchangeability
- Manage labour spend and credit return budgets effectively
- Ensure all actions are in line with relevant consumer law obligations whilst protecting the company's commercial position
- Responsible for your own safety and the safety of others

- Promote safety and safety policies at all times
- Attend fit for work and not under the influence of alcohol, drugs or other substances
- Maintain an understanding of and act in accordance with WHS Policies, procedures and responsibilities
- Maintain an understanding of the hazards and risks associated with our operations
- Identify and report hazards and GLEs in a timely manner
- Sound knowledge of the mechanical and automotive repair industry
- Strong mechanical background with diagnostic capability across a variety of makes and models
- Ability to troubleshoot product faults and provide step-by-step solutions over the phone
- Experience using Pinnacle and Bid Buddy systems highly regarded
- Skilled in interpreting manufacturer parts catalogues and determining interchangeability
- Excellent problem-solving, negotiating, decision-making, and conflict management skills
- High attention to process compliance and adherence to business rules
- Well-developed organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent numeracy and reporting capabilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general computer systems
