About the Role

Focused on Care is looking for a strategic and hands-on Finance Manager to lead and evolve our financial operations. Reporting directly to the Director, this pivotal role oversees all aspects of financial management, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, audit coordination, and strategic financial planning.

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for driving financial performance, implementing robust systems and processes, and providing insightful analysis to support organisational growth. You will lead a small finance team and collaborate closely with the Executive Team to align financial strategies with our broader operational and strategic goals.

Key responsibilities
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management with precision and strategic insight
  • Oversee cost accounting and ensure accurate revenue and expense tracking using Xero
  • Liaise with external accountants to prepare annual financial statements and tax returns
  • Deliver end-of-month management reports with commentary and recommendations for improvement
  • Deliver regular service level profit and loss statements and hours of service to ensure delivery against budget
  • Streamline and oversee accounts payable, receivable, invoicing, and debt recovery processes
  • Manage end-to-end payroll for 300+ employees, ensuring compliance with SCHADS Award
  • Maintain employer obligations including PAYG, superannuation, and payroll tax
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team
  • Drive digital transformation and process improvement across financial operations
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders across multiple platforms
About You

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field is required
  • Minimum of 3 years previous experience in a Finance/Accounts Management role
  • Demonstrated expertise in payroll management and SCHADS Award interpretation
  • Experience with Xero or similar accounting platforms
  • 1–2 years' experience in NDIS finance operations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to thrive in a high-volume environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across diverse audiences
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
  • High level of motivation, organisation, and administrative capability
