About Our Practice

Illawarra Cardiology Associates is a specialist Cardiology practice located in Wollongong and Shellharbour that provides high quality comprehensive cardiac, interventional and diagnostic services to our patients.

About The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic, well presented, experienced medical receptionist who can work flexible hours and work efficiently in a fast paced environment, to join our busy cardiology practice.

The role includes a range of tasks, 3 days per week but may vary, include early starts and cover as required for sick or annual leave.

Ideally the applicant would have worked with Genie and possess a minimum of 2-3 years recent medical reception experience, live locally, current drivers' licence, be completely fluent in English, willing to travel between sites and be trained in other areas of the practice.

Responsibilities Include
  • Deliver an efficient, courteous, confidential quality service to patients and healthcare professionals i.e. Liaising with medical specialists, doctors, hospital and allied workers and patients
  • General administration
  • Answering phone calls and booking appointments
  • Arranging hospital bookings and tests as required
  • Patient billing, cash collection, receipting and reconciliation
  • Managing patient medical records confidentially
  • Preparing rooms / equipment / paperwork for various tests
  • Typing i.e. letters, reports etc.

Key Criteria
  • Reliable, calm and flexible team player, adapt to change, fill in when required, covering sick leave and annual leave.
  • Must present impeccably, professionally spoken and courteous/compassionate in person, via email and on the telephone.
  • Recent experience in medical specialist reception and Genie software is preferred.
  • Possess excellent communication and time management skills, be proactive and able to multitask.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy, fast paced environment.
