Overview

Illawarra Sleep Medicine Centre is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist for a Full Time role within our growing team. Hours of work are Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Responsibilities
  • Welcoming patients and confirming their details
  • Managing telephone enquiries and taking messages as required
  • Scheduling patient appointments including sending reminders and recalling patients
  • Processing outgoing and incoming emails, faxes and scanning documents
  • Reviewing and sending letters
  • Liaising with pathology & other medical groups
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to understand medical terminology
  • Working knowledge of basic medical terminology, particularly sleep medicine terminology preferred
  • Great attention to detail
  • Pleasant & empathic manner to both patients & other staff
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and experience with practice management software
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an administrative environment preferred
  • Demonstrated customer service experience, preferably in healthcare or service industry
  • Eligibility to work in Australia (Australian citizenship, permanent residency, or valid work visa)
  • Experience working in a medical environment
  • Experience with GENTU or other medical software
  • Knowledge of Medicare billing processes and health fund claims
  • Prior retail experience and willing to learn new skills in a challenging environment
