What you will do
  • Provide execution of strategic PR plans, organic social and events; tactical communication advice and support to the Target Australia business.
  • Collaborate with the PR & Social Media Manager to implement PR programs and campaigns that promote and protect the reputation of the Target Australia business.
  • Collaborate with Marketing Leadership team, Corporate Affairs, Merchandise, Design, Online, Store Operations and other key stakeholders to create and execute PR initiatives and events that support the brand, marketing, category, campaign or product stories (in line with approved strategies and business objectives).
  • Produce and edit on-brand editorial material such as feature stories, media releases, research reports, presentations, blog posts, video content, social narrative, interview preparation materials & key messages.
  • Develop compelling story angles and pitch them to media, manage product placement and associated PR events.
  • Implement Target Influencer program and organic social media programs.
  • Produce and circulate post-implementation assessments as relevant (focused on metrics of success and key learnings).
  • Develop and execute LAM strategies to support individual or grouped store challenges (e.g. store launches and refurbishments, etc.).
What we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years' experience working in a complex national business and experience providing sound reputation advice to stakeholders at all levels. Excellent stakeholder management skills with external audiences such as key media and bloggers are essential.

The ideal person will have the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal skills and excellent event management experience
  • Excellent up-to-date knowledge and capabilities across social media platforms and current technologies and trends
  • Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop
  • Database management
  • Passionate about customers and the brand
  • Exceptional collaboration, influencing and communication skills
  • Strong organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines within budget and compile results/focus on learnings for future programs
  • Ability to independently manage and resolve complex issues
  • Developed leadership skills, works under pressure and pays attention to detail
  • Proactive and shows initiative; understands the importance of confidentiality
