What will you do?
Due to exciting growth in our Marketing team, we have a new opportunity for a Social Media Specialist to join the Target team. As part of this expansion, we're also moving to an incredible new office in Chadstone — the fashion capital of Australia.
As the Social Media Specialist your primary focus is on providing execution of strategic PR plans, organic social and events as well as tactical communication advice and support to the Target Australia business.
Collaboratively work with the PR & Social Media Manager to implement PR programs and campaigns that promote and protect the reputation of the Target Australia business. Work collaboratively with Marketing Leadership team, Corporate Affairs, Merchandise, Design, Online, Store Operations and other key business stakeholders to create and execute PR initiatives and events that support the brand, marketing, category, campaign or product stories (in line with approved strategies and business objectives). As required, produce and edit all on-brand editorial material such as feature stories, media releases, research reports, presentations, blog posts, video content, social narrative, interview preparation materials & key messages.
Develop compelling story angles and pitch them to media, manage product placement and associated PR events. Implement Target Influencer program and organic social media programs. Produce and circulate post implementation assessments as relevant (focused on metrics of success and key learnings).
Responsibilities include, but not limited:
Ensure that all internal and external PR programs and communication activities are aligned to the strategic and business objectives,Work closely with the Manager PR & Social Media to regularly review strategy direction, adjust accordingly and look for more ways to promote the business both internally and externally.Implement Organic Social Media strategy and proactively identify ways to amplify earned content across Target channels.Work with the Manager PR & Social Media to agree focus and develop agency briefs and execute. Develop and execute LAM strategies to support individual or grouped store challenges (eg store launches and re-furbs etc).Assist in the creation of reports back to General Manager of Marketing and relevant business stakeholders regarding progress and success of the briefs.Assist in the development and writing of all internal communication and media material including media briefs, position statements and releases that relate to customer and products.Assist in the development and execution of all communications plans from internal communication requirements through to external communication management that relate to customer.Work closely with the marketing (and other) teams to finalise briefs and manage external agency input and planning and with other areas of the business to develop strategic plans and briefs and manage internally and externally.What we are looking for?
The ideal candidate will have minimum 3 years' experience working in complex national business. Experience in providing sound reputation advice to key stakeholders in the business – not just at senior management level – all levels. Excellent stakeholder management skills particularly with external audiences such as key media and bloggers is essential.
The ideal person will have the following knowledge, skills and qualifications:
Excellent written and verbal skills and excellent event management experience Excellent up-to date knowledge and capabilities across social media platforms including current technologies and trends in social media, Strong skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat, PhotoshopDatabase managementPassionate about customers and the brandExceptional collaboration, influencing and communication skills Strong organisational skills, ability to meet all deadlines within budget and compile results/focus on learnings for future programsAbility to independently manage and resolve complex issuesDeveloped leadership skills, works extremely well under pressure and attention to detail.Proactive / shows initiative and understands importance of confidentiality
