Overview

Business Development Manager – HVAC role at CAREL. Develop the Climate business of CAREL Australia (humidification & evaporative cooling segments).

Position Description

The role involves planning and developing existing customers, identifying and developing new customers, and generating demand through the end user engagement strategy (consulting engineers and end users) to ensure monthly and yearly sales budgets are achieved. The role requires strong customer-facing and market presence via direct and indirect strategies, supported by a superior technical offer. Medium frequency interstate and intrastate travel is required.

Overall Responsibilities
  • Maintain, plan and develop key customer relationships within the Climate market (adiabatic and isothermal humidification; commercial adiabatic cooling).
  • Achieve sales targets within company policies; promote brand and products; provide technical leadership and manage sales and product activities in the climate category.
  • Lead the technical sales approach for the Climate product range across all markets.
  • Support channel distributors and the end user engagement specification strategy in a partnership approach.
  • In the refrigeration market, support the sales team to achieve targets for CAREL's humidifier platforms.
Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain and deliver an end-user engagement program for HVAC products.
  • Actively seek out new and developing market opportunities.
  • Conduct active in-field customer visits.
  • Brand development activities and assist with NSM – Indoor Air Quality for business growth.
  • Product selection and quotation for applications.
  • Maintain and develop existing customers and identify new business opportunities.
  • Engage with consulting engineers to develop a customer pull strategy for the business.
  • Demonstrate and assist with technical problem solving on site; become a technical leader within the HVAC product range.
  • Sell by value; manage monthly sales and customer reporting with CRM updates.
  • Possess sales project management skills to handle long lead time sales cycles.
  • Product management: local subject matter expertise, product portfolio lifecycle, compliance, etc.

This is a full-time job. Base Salary: 78,000 AUD yearly. Location: 2140, Homebush, New South Wales, Australia.

Requirements

NECESSARY SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Technical knowledge – psychometrics and/or HVAC knowledge highly valued.
  • Degree/diploma – Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Trade Qualification or similar.
  • Multilevel customer relationship management skills / experience.
  • Industry sales / technical experience for 5+ years within the HVAC&R field.
  • Sales and commercial experience at a minimum account level; key account level highly valued.
  • Sales & brand promotion skills – including exhibitions, seminars and presentations.
  • Business acumen including basic financial awareness, commercial sales processes and essential business tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Self-managing, performance-driven and ability to close the sale.
