Designer Rugs is seeking a highly organised and proactive Admin / Receptionist to join our Sydney team. This full-time role is pivotal to the daily functioning of our office, providing essential support across reception, administration, and sales operations.

Who We Are

Designer Rugs is Australia's leading Luxury & Custom Design Rug house with a proud 40 year history.

We've been involved in many exciting projects here and around the world collaborating with some of Australia's leading fashion designers and artists.

Key Responsibilities

Reception & Office Coordination:

  • Reception duties including answering and directing phone calls
  • Ordering and maintaining office and stationery supplies
  • Managing Australia Post supplies and daily mail distribution
  • Booking flights and hotel accommodation
  • Ensuring a professional, tidy and functional office environment
  • Assisting with event organisation

General Secretarial & Administrative Support
  • Handling petty cash and general banking duties
  • Document management and ad hoc admin support for the team
  • Providing general administrative assistance to management and other departments as required

Sales Support & Operational Assistance (Back-Up)
  • Creating purchase orders and processing sales orders
  • Booking local and interstate deliveries
  • Assisting with sales-related administrative tasks when required

About You

You are an organised, detail-oriented team player with a proactive approach and strong communication skills. You enjoy being the go-to person in the office, keeping things running smoothly, and supporting a dynamic team across multiple functions.

You'll Need
  • A minimum 3 years' experience in a fast-paced office supporting the sales team, taking calls and general office admin duties
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office suite is a must [Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc]
  • Excellent written, verbal, communications and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail & very good numerical skills
  • Highly organized with good time management and organisational skills
  • Can do attitude and ability to think on your feet and show initiative
  • Ability to manage and prioritise requests from multiple stakeholders
  • Experience in using MYOB, WMS, Mail Chimp & basic CMS Skills would be an advantage

This is permanent full-time office-based role in our Leichhardt head office.
