This position provides a person-centred housing response for vulnerable and marginalised women with complex needs who are exiting correctional facilities and would otherwise be homeless or at risk of homelessness on release. The goal is their successful reintegration into the community.

Field work is a regular requirement of this role, and conditions in the field are changeable and can at times be volatile, requiring vigilance and risk management.

What You Will Be Doing
  1. Assist women exiting custody on parole to access safe, secure, and appropriate housing through a head-leasing arrangement, including securing suitable properties using your knowledge of local rental markets, financial management skills, and understanding of the Residential Tenancies and Rooming Accommodation Act 2008.
  2. Respond appropriately and sensitively to women exiting custody at risk of homelessness, understanding their housing needs and program suitability.
  3. Manage tenancies, including rent calculation and collection, and coordinate property maintenance responses.
  4. Utilize knowledge of available housing products and services to work with clients on Housing Pathway Plans for longer-term housing solutions.
  5. Engage and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders.
  6. Communicate effectively and sensitively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds.
  7. Demonstrate professionalism, accountability, and ethical behaviour.
  8. Lead and maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring policies and practices regarding Workplace Health and Safety are followed.
