Kanda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Property Officer to join our Children, Youth and Family Services (CYF) team.
This pivotal full-time role will lead and manage the Property Team and maintain property and fleet portfolios across the expansive North Queensland region, from Bundaberg to Cairns.
About the Role As a Senior Property Officer, you will lead by example, managing a team of Property Officers while also maintaining a portfolio of properties in your immediate region.
You will ensure all property-related activities are maintained, emergency repairs are handled efficiently, and inspections meet KPIs.
This role is integral to procurement, house set-up, ongoing maintenance, claims processes, and stakeholder networking.
You will contribute to business strategy, troubleshoot barriers, and ensure assets are maintained to a high standard, adhering to compliance, budgets, and best practice.
This role reports directly to the Executive Accommodation Manager and is a managerial level position with direct reports.
Travel is required as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities Manage the Property Team for your region and maintain a portfolio of properties for your immediate region.
Ensure all activities associated with a property are maintained and emergency repairs are carried out efficiently.
Plan individual and team inspections to ensure KPIs are met.
Manage procurement, house set-up, ongoing maintenance, and claims processes.
Engage in stakeholder networking.
Assist in the development of business strategy and look for growth opportunities.
Be creative in troubleshooting and overcoming barriers to planned outcomes.
Ensure all assets are maintained to a high standard, safely, efficiently, and profitably, adhering to legislative compliance, budgets, and best practice.
About You: Demonstrated strong leadership and organisational skills.
Experience in property management within a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a cohesive team.
Ability to organise work priorities, perform duties under management supervision, and work autonomously when required.
Ability to be organised and to meet required deadlines, with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated experience in dealing with confidential matters.
Hold or willing to obtain: a Working with Children Suitability Blue Card, Licensed Care Services approval (LCS2), NDIS Worker Screening, and a Current unencumbered Class C Drivers Licence.
Desirable Experience: A combination of relevant experience, education and training in a similar role for a minimum of 2 years.
