The Role
Due to an organisational restructure and accelerated global growth, they are recruiting a Global GM Supply Chain to oversee operations across all markets where they sell their products. Main responsibilities include:
Operations execution:
- Lead warehousing, distribution, supply chain, and planning activities.
- Ensure excellent customer service through coordination of end-to-end supply chain activities.
- Develop and implement plans to optimise inventory and service levels.
- Lead system and process improvements across the supply chain.
- Ensure DIFOT (Delivery In Full, On Time) to all customers worldwide.
- Optimise logistics functions to reduce costs and enhance service.
- Engage and negotiate with third-party suppliers supporting the supply chain.
Strategy:
- Develop a customer-centric, responsive, and efficient end-to-end supply chain.
- Maintain productive relationships with internal stakeholders (sales, marketing, IT, manufacturing, product development, finance, etc.).
- Build relationships with key supply chain partners to reduce costs and maximize value.
- Implement strategic projects related to the supply chain.
- Create a strategic plan focusing on people, processes, automation, continuous improvement, and engagement to deliver savings and enhancements.
People and Culture Development:
- Lead a safe, motivated, and engaged workforce.
- Develop team capabilities and foster a culture of performance and accountability.
- Embed change management practices.
- Maximise employee engagement and talent development.
Financial Management:
- Manage the supply chain cost centre.
- Implement cost reduction initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
- Monitor and control major cost drivers with effective reporting and variance analysis.
- Identify and eliminate waste, including inventory waste.
- Oversee stock control systems.
The Person
- Experienced logistics or supply chain professional with operational excellence and commercial acumen.
- Preferably tertiary qualified.
- Senior leadership experience, strategic thinking, and proven delivery through people and processes.
- Extensive supply chain experience in manufacturing, ideally FMCG or similar fast-paced environments.
- Experience with diverse customers, including distributors, retailers, and DTC.
- Financial literacy, budget management, and commercial decision-making skills.
- Collaborative, inclusive decision-maker.
- Strong communication, coaching, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills, including at senior levels.
- Cross-functional experience with sales, marketing, product development, HR, finance, IT, and administration.
- Dynamic, professional, with a strong leadership presence.
- Adaptable communication style.
