We are an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (WGEA) and a member of the Champions of Change Coalition for the advancement of gender equality in Australia.An opportunity exists for the position of a Senior Technical Data Specialist/Technical Data Business Analyst to join the Data & Reporting delivery team of a key transformational project at ASX.The role is responsible for understanding the data requirements and data of a key legacy and transformed system, analysing a modern and contemporary data solution for the replacement system, and overseeing the associated Data flows and solution.**What you'll do:*** Live the ASX Values; to BE Open, Trustworthy, Original and The Example* Adhere to ASX processes, methodologies, standards and policies in relation to delivery* Work closely and build relationships with Enterprise and Solution Architects, Technical Leads, Engineering teams across the program to facilitate continuous collaboration that achieves the best delivery outcomes.* Engage with senior business stakeholders to validate requirements and align on project objectives* Translate business and functional requirements into technical requirements and specifications including data model analysis, table-level mapping and logic decoding* Define and document business rules and logic to support data and reporting needs.* Produce detailed, high-quality documentation including functional and technical specification documents to support design, engineering build and testing* Provide Business context for transformations, clarify business rules and ensures edge cases are addressed* Oversee the validation of data ingestion, ensuring alignment with business rules and project deliverables.* Collaborate with technical teams to design robust, scalable data solutions, including data models, ETL pipelines, and reporting frameworks* Write the pseudo code, review results and validate the requirements. Flag gaps or assumptions in logic to ensure downstream alignment* Act as a mentor to junior team members to support an inclusive team culture**What you've done – Skills & Experience:*** 10+ years in a data focused role with senior level experience as a Technical BA or Data Analyst* Expert in SQL for advanced data analysis and querying.* Proven experience in data delivery projects, including data ingestion into warehouses, ETL processes, and reporting.* Demonstrated experience implementing data quality governance and stewardship workflows.* Understanding of data modelling and STTM* Proven ability to engage with and influence senior stakeholders* Demonstrate high level analytical capabilities, applied to complex programs of work* Experience in performing complex data migrations within large scale transformation projects* Experience working in the full software development life cycle using traditional and agile methodologies* Expertise in creating detailed and comprehensive business and technical documentation* Significant experience in overseeing data testing and validation activities* Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a high-functioning team, with a continuous improvement mindset* Demonstrated strong communication, facilitation and analysis skills, with the ability to view and explain technology from a customer perspective* B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent background**What you need to enjoy and be good at for this role:*** Analytical thinker – can evaluate information and seek a solution* Team player – support other team members to achieve desired goals, working cross-functionally if required* Results orientated – understands what is needed to deliver in a tightly regulated but changing project-based environment* Great communicator – able to get the message across in the best way* Naturally inquisitive – asks questions to ensure understanding* Collaboration – can work with multiple stakeholders to deliver a common goal* Enjoy – working in a fast-paced, challenging and often changing environment* View – ability to look at the big picture and at the same time, ensure attention to detail and quality# We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you'll help us to live our values.
