We're looking for a Senior Consultant – Data Specialist to lead the way in turning complex data into powerful insights. In this role, you'll combine advanced quantitative expertise with a talent for data storytelling, supporting clients to measure impact, improve outcomes, and make evidence-based decisions.
What you'll doAs a Data Specialist at IPS, you will:
- Design and deliver quantitative and mixed-method research, including survey design, sampling, data collection, and statistical analysis.
- Apply advanced statistical modelling, predictive analytics, and quantitative techniques to analyse trends and identify patterns.
- Collaborate with researchers to translate findings into clear, compelling insights for diverse audiences.
- Develop dashboards, infographics, and data visualisations that make complex information accessible and engaging.
- Ensure all outputs are culturally competent and tailored for First Nations and other diverse communities.
- Oversee data management across multiple projects, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and quality.
- Mentor colleagues in quantitative methods and build team capability in data tools and visualisation.
- Present findings to clients in ways that support decision-making and engagement.
- Contribute to business development through proposals, tenders, and thought leadership.
- Represent IPS as an analytics expert at industry events and client engagements.
- Engage ethically and respectfully with research participants, ensuring cultural safety and transparency throughout projects.
We're looking for someone with:
- Graduate or post-graduate qualifications in science, statistics, data analytics, or a related field.
- Advanced expertise in quantitative data analysis and evaluation.
- Strong skills in survey design, sampling strategies, and statistical modelling.
- Experience using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Excel, SPSS, NVivo, , and Adobe Creative Suite.
- Proven ability to create compelling visualisations and data-driven narratives for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong ability to interpret data trends and communicate findings in context to inform strategy and policy.
- A track record of integrating findings across datasets to produce holistic, evidence-based insights.
- Commitment to culturally competent approaches, especially in working with First Nations communities.
- Exceptional attention to detail, quality assurance, and data integrity.
Bonus points if you have:
- Skills in predictive analytics, AI integration, forecasting, or advanced statistical modelling.
- Experience in business development and client-facing advisory roles.
- The ability to bridge qualitative and quantitative insights to strengthen evaluation and impact.
