Technical Specialist – Data Engineer
Location:
This is a hybrid opportunity where you'll work 3 day in the Sydney office, 2 days a week from home or depending on agreement with your management.

We're looking for a Technical Specialist – Data and AI with:
- Experience in data engineering with hands on experience using Spark SQL to model and transform data.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python. PySpark and/or SQL
- Experience working with DBT, Apache Spark or Delta Lake and a good understanding of DBT concepts.
- Experience building Power BI models and visualizations with solid understanding of DAX and Power BI visualization techniques.
- Implement ETL pipelines using Azure Data Factory, DBT and various SQL engines including Spark SQL, Databricks SQL and Snowflake SQL.
- Knowledge of distributed data storage, partitioning, and performance tuning.
- Experience developing and deploying data infrastructure as code (IaC) and working in CI/CD environments.
- Strong SQL and data modelling (star schema, snowflake, lakehouse).
- Optional: Exposure to orchestration tools (e.g., Airflow, Data Factory, Synapse Pipelines, Fabric Pipelines).
- Extensive experience working with large data sets with hands-on technology skills to design and build robust data architectures.
- Extensive experience in data modelling and database design
- Familiarity with common data modelling concepts and terminology such as Inmon, Kimball, snowflake, star, dimensions, facts, data lakes, data warehouses, data vault.
