Office Manager/ Senior Administrator | Public Practice Accounting Firm | Melbourne

We are looking for an experienced public practice administrator looking for the next step in their career.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual looking to develop their skills within administration and take on additional responsibilities within a team environment.

Working in a reputable public practice accounting firm, we are looking for a proactive and organised Office Manager / Senior Administrator to support their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day office operations, including ordering supplies, coordinating catering, and preparing meeting rooms
  • Organising and training for junior team members
  • Meet and greet clients, handle incoming calls, and schedule appointments
  • Provide administrative support to accountants, including document collation and lodgement assistance
  • Handle client onboarding/offboarding and maintain accurate database records
  • Monitor WIP and assist with invoice drafting
  • Manage ATO lodgements including income tax, BAS, and payroll tax
  • Liaise with the ATO for lodgement deferrals, payment plans, and penalty remissions
  • Prepare ASIC annual review mail-outs and monitor deadlines
  • Assist with setting up new entities and associated registrations (ABN, TFN, GST)
  • General office tasks including mail handling, calendar management, and ad-hoc duties

About You:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within professional services (accounting preferred)
  • Strong organisational and multitasking skills
  • Excellent communication and client service abilities
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and relevant practice management software including; CAS 360, BGL, Handisoft, Xero, Xero Practice Manager
  • A team player with a can-do attitude and strong attention to detail
