Overview Safe Haven Lead, Health Service Manager Level 2 - SESLHD MHS.
Temporary Part Time until March 2026.
Location: Kogarah, Sydney.
Hours per week: 16.
Remuneration: $55.41-$65.37 per hour, plus superannuation.

This role provides leadership in delivering an innovative suicide prevention drop-in program, Safe Haven, which offers rapid access to compassionate care for people in suicidal crisis, and supports access to appropriate services.
Responsibilities

Lead high quality recovery oriented, trauma informed support for people who use the Safe Haven, in collaboration with Peer Suicide Prevention Workers.
Provide leadership in delivering an innovative suicide prevention drop-in program that serves as an alternative to the Emergency Department.
Facilitate education to staff and community members about suicide prevention; support program development and quality improvement.
Ensure evening shifts are covered as the Safe Haven is open 5pm – 9pm, six days a week.
Coordinate with health staff, services and stakeholders to ensure safe transfer of care and access to psychosocial supports.
Provide supervision and support to staff with reflective supervision and ongoing training.

Selection Criteria

Tertiary qualifications in a health related field and/or extensive relevant experience with individuals experiencing suicidal crisis.
Strong understanding of suicide prevention needs and commitment to reducing suicide in the community.
Experience in managing staff, service development and quality improvement.
Experience delivering recovery oriented, trauma informed work and safety planning with people experiencing suicidal distress.
Analytical and problem solving skills; ability to navigate health systems and coordinate transfer of care; provide authoritative advice about psychosocial supports.
Highly developed communication, interpersonal and influencing skills; ability to develop relationships with stakeholders.
Effective time management and ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
Experience developing, establishing, maintaining and reviewing performance indicators and reporting systems.
