Role Overview
Position Summary: We're looking for a hunter—someone who can win new clients (startups and enterprise alike) by leveraging their commercial acumen and drive, while our recruitment team handles the candidate delivery.
You'll own your pipeline, drive client conversations, and lock down contracts, all backed by a high-performing delivery team.

Core Responsibilities:
Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across startups and enterprise clients.

Move deals quickly—work with fast-moving sales cycles.

Engage with business decision-makers and hiring managers to understand needs and close deals.

Hand off candidate sourcing and delivery to our specialized internal team.

Embed yourself in the Melbourne & Australian ecosystem, representing Horizontal Talent with energy and professionalism.

What You Bring
Experience: Commercial Business development experience in Melbourne & the Australian market.
Any IT or Digital sector experience will be highly desirable.
As well as previous Agency Recruitment experience.

Client Network: Existing client relationships are a plus.

Commercial Focus: Strong business development skills and client-centric mindset.

Recruitment Platforms: Familiarity with tools like Bullhorn, SEEK, and Linked In Recruiter is advantageous — but not mandatory.

Vertical Flexibility: You may choose to specialise in a particular vertical if that plays to your strength.

Work Rights: Must have full legal right to work in Australia.

If you are a recruiter stuck with no career progression, a returning mum to the workforce or are being looked over for having too much experience.
