  • Creating new ways of working, undertaking our IHG Service Training and inspire your new team to InterContinental's way of working
  • Receiving hotel goods & transiting to correct areas
  • Directing daily engineering needs to ensure the right team is always on the right task
  • Creating a safe, secure, and comfortable environment for our guests to enjoy
  • Maintaining and ordering parts and supplies whilst minimizing waste and meeting our green initiatives
  • Being flexible to react to ad-hoc duties where we have to unexpectedly pull together to get a task completed
  • Building strong relationships with third-party contractors
  • Manage day-to-day staffing needs, plan and assign work and establish performance and development goals for team members.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve team member performance
  • Educate and train team members in compliance with federal, state and local laws and safety regulations. Ensure staff is properly trained and has the tools and equipment to carry out job duties
  • Ensure your team are properly trained on systems, security, service and quality standards

What we need from you

  • Advanced vocational training plus four years of experience in general building maintenance or construction, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Specialized expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry fields desired
  • Hotel experience preferred
  • Professional certification and license if required under Australian Law
