Maintenance/handyman

**Responsibilities**:

- Conduct routine inspections of the building and common areas to identify maintenance needs
- Perform repairs and maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents and address their concerns in a timely manner
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialized repairs or services that are beyond the scope of in-house maintenance
- Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of common areas, including lobbies, hallways, and recreational facilities
- Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, repairs performed, and materials used
- Assist with the preparation of vacant units for new tenants, including cleaning, painting, and minor repairs
- Implement preventative maintenance measures to ensure the longevity of the building systems and equipment
- Adhere to safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment
- Provide excellent customer service to residents and foster positive relationships with tenants and colleagues

**Requirements**:

- Previous experience in building maintenance, preferably in an apartment building or similar environment
- Proficient in various maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and HVAC systems
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve maintenance issues
- Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and functionality
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents and colleagues
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual labour when necessary
- Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to maintenance activities
