Reporting to the General Manager, ANZ and an integral member of the Australia Leadership Team you will manage partnerships, alliances and contracts with external entities to optimize business results and outcomes. You will manage the Biosimilar and NZ portfolio as well as late stage products with partnership/contract strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Participate in development of affiliate strategy and goals/priorities, monitoring of business performance and engagement in affiliate people and culture strategies
  • Develops and executes a comprehensive partnership strategy aligned with the company's strategic priorities
  • Identify potential partners, evaluate partnership opportunities and prioritise collaborations that offer strategic value and complement the company's strengths and capabilities
  • Lead negotiations with prospective partners to establish partnership agreements, licensing deals, join ventures and other types of partnerships.
  • Collaborate and align with the General Manager, Finance Director and Legal Director for local approvals
  • Collaborate and align with relevant regional and global governance to ensure all partnership agreements receive the appropriate above country approvals
  • Monitor and assess partnership agreements to ensure the partner is delivering as per set KPIs and raise and address any issues in a timely manner to course correct
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective partners
  • Provides short and long-term brand revenue forecasts
  • Overseas the NZ portfolio and leads discussions and negotiations with Pharmac
  • Leads the Key Account Management team to optimise hospital contract opportunities and business results
  • Oversees contracts and pricing for the affiliate
  • Translates affiliate/functional strategy into team goals and priorities
  • Manages approved OPEX/DOE budgets to ensure appropriate allocation of resources and ensures execution of spend meets plan and financial/compliance controls
  • Sets a compliance 'tone from the top' by ensuring the Business Development team complete essential trainings on time, shares compliance best practices and lessons and coaches staff as required to address compliance issues
  • Builds a high performing Business Development team by attracting, developing and retaining talents, ensuring effective onboarding, providing regular coaching and performance feedback.
  • Manages talent reviews and performance assessments for the Business Development team as part of the affiliate talent and MAP processes
  • Supports career development for the Business Development team by engaging in meaningful career discussions, and helping to facilitate development activities aligned to individuals' career development plan
  • Performance manages team members that are not hitting metrics, delivering on expectations of the role or demonstrating in appropriate behaviours

  • At least 10 years of pharma industry experience
  • At least 5 years of people leadership experience including sales, marketing and/or business related
  • Track record of identifying, developing and leading successful negotiations in Business Development deals
  • Strong Executive presence
  • Innovative Medicine and Biosimilars or Generic management experience
  • Experience presenting to external "deal makers" and internal local and regional leadership teams
  • Experience in a highly matrixed organisation
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity
