As an APS 5 Compliance Officer, you will play a vital role in responding to public and industry inquiries, conducting compliance activities, and assessing applicants' fitness to hold waste export licenses or exemptions.

By joining the team, you will contribute to the advancement of waste reduction and sustainable practices in Australia.

Position Details:
As an APS 5 Compliance Officer, you will have a diverse range of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

  • Responding to public and industry inquiries regarding their obligations under the Act.
  • Gathering and assessing information to identify instances of noncompliance with the Act.
  • Making recommendations to senior staff based on your findings.
  • Undertaking compliance activities such as audits, site visits, and assessments.
  • Drafting reports on applicants' fitness and propriety to hold waste export licenses or exemptions.
  • Preparing written communication, including assessments, decision records, minutes, educational materials, and reports.
  • Independently managing a case load and working collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Providing supervision and guidance to a small team engaged in compliance work, as needed.
  • Undertaking other duties as assigned.
