About the Role

As a Communications Coordinator specializing in Science, you'll play a vital role in steering strategic communications and engaging stakeholders within the Faculty of Science and the wider university. Your main tasks will involve planning, creating, and executing diverse communication initiatives to promote the Faculty of Science's objectives, boost awareness, and encourage support, both internally and externally.

To excel in this position, you must grasp the needs and preferences of different stakeholders and audiences, actively identifying opportunities to create relevant content for them. Additionally, you'll contribute to implementing university-wide campaigns aimed at enhancing engagement and awareness across academic sectors.

Your main responsibilities include:
  • Developing communication materials covering various strategic communication areas such as media relations, stakeholder engagement, internal communications, crisis management, and corporate events
  • Crafting compelling content for different platforms including media releases, websites, executive speeches, staff newsletters, and Pursuit
  • Assisting in executing the integrated strategic communication strategy
  • Collaborating with team members to devise and execute promotional tactics that drive involvement and interest in faculty and university initiatives

We are in search of a professional with exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, capable of fostering relationships, handling multiple stakeholders effectively, and working well in both independent and team settings, particularly within a fast-paced and adaptable environment. We value proactive individuals with superb organizational skills, adept at juggling priorities amid competing demands.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Degree in a relevant field, accompanied by practical experience or specialized expertise in communications
  • Proficiency in developing targeted communications for various channels including print, digital, and social media
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in project execution
