The opportunity:
This position is located within the Genetic Support Network of Victoria (GSNV). The GSNV is an incorporated association that is funded by the Victorian Department of Health.
We work to empower people with genetic conditions and those who support them to make informed and important decisions about life and health through support, advocacy and education.
We believe in everyone's right to flourish - providing access to the practical and pathways to the possible.
The GSNV Communications Coordinator will support the operations of the GSNV - delivering the organisation's strategic and tactical communications to internal and external stakeholders and target audiences.
The accountabilities listed below will be undertaken at various points within the year.
Deliverables will involve responding to the calendar of events for the genetic, undiagnosed and rare disease (GUaRD) sector and elevating the organisation's profile.
This will be achieved through growing traditional and digital audiences via engaging visual and written content.Your responsibilities include:
Contributing to the development of a communications strategy
Understanding and growing GSNV digital audiences through the ideation, execution and analysis of social media and online content
Developing and delivering best practice visual and written content across print, digital and multimedia for EDMs, the website, annual report and community notices
Collaborating with the wider team to promote and protect the GSNV's image and identity, ensuring consistency across the organisation
Promoting GSNV research & events using engaging and innovative approaches
About you:
Qualification in a relevant field or relevant experience
Empathy, cultural awareness and sensitivity, and a desire to make a difference in the community through your work
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills - both written and verbal
Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task
