About the role:


If you are a highly motivated and want to make a real difference in the community then this is the role for you.

As a Home Maintenance Officer with Merri-bek City Council you will be an important part of the Aged and Community Support helping older and vulnerable resident stay in their homes and be part of their community.

You will provide minor household repairs, alterations, odd jobs and maintenance work in the homes of eligible residents as referred.

You will be part of a small and busy Home Maintenance team. Every day will be different.

Skills and experience require to perform the role:

  • Minimum of 1-year experience in a related field
  • Proficiency and experience in home maintenance work essential
  • Trade qualifications in plumbing, building or electrical desirable
  • Experience in use of range of hand tools, power tools and maintenance equipment
  • Have a current Level II First Aid or have the ability to obtain
  • You must be available to work five days per week.
  • Hold a current Working with Children's Check or have the ability to obtain one
  • Reasonable level of personal fitness and you need to have the ability to be on your feet throughout the working day
  • Hold a current Victorian Drivers licence
  • Speaking a second community language; Greek, Italian or Arabic is also highly desirable
