About the team:

The Industry Growth Program is a new initiative announced in the 2023/24 Budget.

It will provide advice and matched grant funding for small and medium enterprises and startups to commercialise their ideas and grow their businesses.

We will have a network of experienced advisers to guide small and medium enterprises and startups on commercialisation and early-stage business growth.


The program is currently under development and will be delivered by the Industry Growth Program branch within the AusIndustry Division in the Department of Industry, Science and Resources.

We have national reach with staff across Australia and consider our geographically dispersed workforce as one of our core strengths.

Our collective leadership approach focuses on decision-making, forward planning and program management.

What you will do:

As Manager - Industry Growth Program Branch, you will be responsible for:

  • Contributing to the strategic direction of the Program, Branch and Division.
  • Promoting and managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders, advocating, representing and negotiating on behalf of the branch, division and department.
  • Analysing issues and preparing input to a range of policy matters and discussions.
  • Working collaboratively across the Branch, Division and other Divisions across the department.
  • Managing the departmental and administered budgets efficiently and effectively.
  • Leading a team of staff to deliver outcomes for the Program, Branch, Division and Department.
  • Leading and being actively involved in change processes, driving change and innovation in your team.
  • Identifying staff capability and developing, coaching and mentoring staff, providing timely and constructive feedback and managing performance.
