About the Company:


Our client is a dynamic, award-winning Superannuation Fund who currently seeks a highly experienced senior risk professional to join the team.

This role is truly an opportunity to lead a strong risk function.

As the Head of Risk, you will be responsible for maintaining and uplifting the company's risk framework and continuing to embed a deeply ingrained culture of risk into the business.

You will also be an integral member of the Company's leadership group, and as such, will have significant input into the business' strategy and have an important role to play in delivering that strategy.

As this is a senior role within the company, you should ideally have:

  • Exceptional relationship management and communication skills across all levels of stakeholders;
  • 8+ years of risk and compliance experience, either at an Australian regulator (APRA / ASIC) within financial services or ideally within superannuation;
  • Tertiary qualifications in law, economics, business, commerce or related fieldpreferred;
  • Track record of delivery and execution of risk transformation and compliance initiatives;
  • Strong technical knowledge in risk management within funds; AND
  • Exposure in endtoend development of risk frameworks across multiple lines of business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the General Manager, Risk and Compliance this individual will implement and maintain the company's risk management framework;
  • Review and update current risk management frameworks in line with legislative requirements from a superannuation perspective;
  • Draft and implement changes to policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and to mitigate risk;
  • Review risk management systems and internal controls to identify gaps and provide recommendations;
  • Assist in developing and leading a strong risk culture within the business;
  • Liaise with stakeholders, and business functions with providing training to all staff, and guidance for all risk related matters;
  • Manage and control risk identification and management across the company and ensure appropriate risk management controls are in place; AND
  • Partaking in change management activities regarding Risk and Compliance for the business.
