About the role

The Head of Risk Member & Employer Experience (
HR-MEX ) position is a key role within the Line 1 Business Risk & Compliance team, reporting to the Group Head of Business Risk & Compliance.

The HR-MEX will set the direction and strategy for risk management and compliance within the MEX Division to ensure that business unit operational risks are identified, understood and managed effectively and consistently with the enterprise risk management framework.


This role will lead a Member & Employer Experience Risk Management team, including oversight and development of business unit Risk Champions to drive an optimised and sustainable balance between risk, reward and support of the MEX Division.


In this role you will develop and implement a robust MEX risk governance framework and risk management strategy aligned to the enterprise risk framework and strategy, and assist in the development, review and implementation of MEX business unit risk policies.


You will implement a risk assessment program to identify, assess and manage MEX business unit risk in order to facilitate the development and review of MEX business unit risk registers to identify and analyse material risks, controls and compliance obligations based on documented business processes.


You will develop and maintain effective reporting mechanisms into the MEX Forum for Operational Risk Management to communicate the risk profile, relevant dashboards and action plans, whilst providing appropriate and timely risk, control and compliance reporting and communications to the business units executives and management, with escalation consistent with the Incident & Breach Reporting Policy.


To be successful ideally you will possess tertiary qualifications in business, risk management or a related field, with proven risk, control and compliance experience in a senior specialist role for member and employer services in the superannuation or financial services sector.


You will have a strong understanding of interdependencies between superannuation business processes, systems, risks, controls and compliance and be commercially astute with strong analytical and organisational skills and a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, activities and projects, simultaneously.


You will have demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong business relationships with key stakeholders, with a commitment to the success of the team through cross functional communication and cooperation.
