As the Head of Risk and Compliance in Consumer affairs, you will oversee the risk aspect of the Vocus Consumer division. In this vital position, your responsibilities include developing and executing the risk management strategy for Vocus's retail consumer brands. This entails ensuring compliance with Federal and State regulations, as well as internal policies, while effectively managing the balance between risk, regulations, and business rewards.

Leading a team with wide responsibilities, this role combines strategic planning with hands-on tasks. Your success hinges on establishing and implementing operational risk management frameworks, processes, and systems that enable business stakeholders to uphold compliance. Moreover, you will provide robust governance reporting on risk and compliance to the Executive team and Board.

Leverage your profound knowledge of Telecommunications and Energy regulations to collaborate with legal and regulatory teams. Educate business owners on regulatory requirements, provide frameworks for risk identification and mitigation, and ensure operational compliance readiness for new regulatory changes or business initiatives.

**Your Daily Tasks will Include**

  • Building, leading, and enhancing the Risk & Compliance team's skills
  • Collaborating with business stakeholders to design and implement controls for compliance with regulations
  • Preparing reports for various committees and senior management
  • Evaluating policies and procedures to attain risk management objectives
  • Introducing new technology and techniques for risk management improvement
  • Developing a 'self-audit' process for compliance testing
  • Driving continuous improvement based on feedback and compliance developments
  • Advising on risk management and compliance actions
  • Collaborating with business owners for compliance readiness

**Your Qualifications**

  • Prior leadership experience in Risk & Compliance within Energy or Telco sectors
  • Experience in implementing self-risk audit processes and enhancing stakeholder understanding of compliance
  • Capability in setting up controls for regulatory compliance
  • Proficiency in managing organizational changes and offshore environments
  • Strong negotiation, conflict management, and stakeholder influencing skills
  • Effective presentation and strategic thinking abilities
