Are you an experienced HR professional looking for an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact? We are seeking a skilled HR Business Partner to provide operational HR support to our client.

As the HR Business Partner, you will play a crucial role in delivering a range of People & Culture services to management and employees, contributing to the overall success of the business.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

As the HR Business Partner, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing day-to-day advice to management on workforce matters, including compensation, employment conditions, and disciplinary processes, ensuring compliance with regulations and policies.
  • Offering performance management coaching and guidance to management, including setting and reviewing performance goals, addressing poor performance, and managing disciplinary processes.
  • Assisting with workforce planning by analysing current activities, job descriptions, and identifying future needs and capability gaps.
  • Conducting effective investigations and managing grievances, adhering to company policies and standards.
  • Providing insights, data, and trends on culture and behaviour to drive informed decisionmaking.
  • Resolving complex employee relations issues, seeking guidance from the Senior Manager
  • People & Culture as needed.
  • Assisting in the management of worker's compensation claims, returntowork plans, and fitness for duty matters.
  • Collaborating with management and employees to enhance work relationships, boost morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Ensuring successful on boarding of new and promoted employees.
  • Educating and implementing company programs, initiatives, and policies.

Skills Essential to the Job:

To excel in this role, you should possess:

  • Demonstrated experience and in-depth knowledge of HR and legal requirements in the day-to-day management of employees (minimum 3+ years of experience in a similar role).
  • Experience working as an HR generalist in heavy industry (
    Mining, Manufacturing, Logistics, Maritime, etc.).
  • Strong stakeholder relationshipbuilding skills across all levels.
  • Exceptional problemsolving abilities.
  • Understanding of and ability to interpret industrial instruments.
  • Proficiency in HRIS usage, including data extraction, analysis, and presentation to senior leaders.
  • Exposure to organisational development and leadership development programs.

Qualifications Required:

To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR or a relevant business-related discipline.

  • Occasional interstate travel may be required.
