About the Role:

The Country Fire Authority (CFA) is a community-based volunteer fire and emergency service. It has more than 52,000 volunteers committed to protecting life and property in the Country Area of Victoria.


Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria (VFBV) is the CFA Volunteer association and peak body established under the Victorian Country Fire Authority Act (CFA Act) to specifically represent CFA Volunteers and ensure there is meaningful consultation with the elected representatives of Volunteers on all matters which may impact upon them.


CFA and VFBV have established Joint Consultative Committees (JCCs) as a platform for their personnel to collaborate and consult in accordance with the Volunteer Charter specified under section 6G of the Country Fire Authority Act.


The main responsibility of these positions is to oversee and coordinate the JCCs and ensure that the work is conducted efficiently, and priorities are met, while maintaining high-quality documentation.

The job entails developing and improving business processes to facilitate the smooth functioning of the JCCs. This involves creating annual work plans, agendas, minutes, and action registers. These roles may provide additional support to other committees within CFA as required.

About You:

  • Tertiary qualification in public sector administration, business or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
  • Extensive experience in providing professional administrative support and successfully managing sensitive and highrisk activities within a large and complex organisation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to liaise and manage and foster key client relationships at senior levels.
  • Demonstrated research skills and proficiency in preparing highlevel and complex written documents within deadlines.
  • Sound organisational and planning skills with the ability to build and improve systems, processes and quality assurance mechanisms.
  • Ability to work proactively with mínimal supervision and direction and as part of a team
  • Initiative and strong analytical skills that support effective problemsolving and decision making.
  • Exceptional computer literacy skills particularly in Microsoft Office
