Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation RNTBC (GMTOAC) was established by the Gunditjmara people in 2005 asserting our Sovereignty to continue our connection to care and protect Gunditjmara country and to progress our rights and interests in our cultural identity, social justice, native title, cultural heritage, and land justice for our Gunditjmara country.


Through GMTOAC, Gunditjmara people ensure that our cultural obligations and responsibilities which arise from Gunditjmara country and under Gunditjmara lore, custom and beliefs are upheld and recognised for the protection and benefit of our traditional lands and waters and for our respect to our Gunditjmara ancestors and for our Elders.


About the role


Reporting to the HR Manager, you will support GMTOAC to meet its statutory obligations and manage risks effectively to provide a safe working environment for all employees across the whole of organisation whilst establishing and maintaining quality policies, systems, and procedures to ensure organisational risk, compliance and OH&S is managed effectively in a supportive environment that values and cares for all staff members.


To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Relevant qualifications in risk management, governance or compliance management and demonstrated relevant experience to the satisfaction of the employer (3 years plus) ideally within a risk management, compliance, or OH&S function.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal) when working with staff and stakeholders.
  • Sound computer skills, including the use of MS Office, risk and compliance management software, Sharepoint and other programs as required.
  • Welldeveloped problem solving and project management skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
