About the role:

An exciting opportunity exists for a Business Manager within Victoria Police - People Development Command.

The Business Manager reports directly to the Assistant Commissioner, People Development Command who has responsibility for the development and delivery of quality education across Victoria Police.

As the Business Manager you will be required to provide advice and support to a range of Command stakeholders. This includes the Assistant Commissioner, Senior Leadership Group and Senior Managers. The role will also work with a range of key senior stakeholders across Victoria Police and other government agencies.

Position responsibilities include Budget & Finance, Facilities Management, Catering & Conference Services, Human Resource Management and portfolio governance responsibilities that are rotated amongst the Senior Leadership Group from time to time.

You must be a strategic thinker with senior level experience in leading strategic functions in a dynamic environment.
Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

Your duties will include:

  • Provision of advice to the Assistant Commissioner and Senior Leadership Group on Business Service functions and risks
  • Management of Business Service functions
  • Analysis of data and development of strategic reports on a range of issues
  • Contribution to the development of resourcing business cases
  • Liaising with Victoria Police stakeholders to ensure delivery of key Command business targets and projects
  • Representing the Assistant Commissioner in the scoping and delivery of cross departmental projects

As the successful applicant, you will have:

  • Effective and proactive leadership and performance management qualities
  • A Collaborative and consultative approach to your work with strong problemsolving skills
  • A capable, analytical and flexible approach to roles and responsibilities
  • Ability to build and sustain relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to drive service delivery improvement through leadership of a large and diverse team
  • Ability to provide evidencebased advice to the Assistant Commissioner

  • This is a fulltime ongoing position located at the Victoria Police Academy, Viewmount Road, Glen Waverley
