As the Event Experience Specialist, you will play a crucial role in designing, planning, and delivering the fan engagement and event presentation elements of Perth Scorchers matches, marquee community events, special events, and gala functions.
About the role
- Create, maintain and deliver a strategic Perth Scorchers Fan Engagement Plan, in conjunction with key stakeholders that aligns to WA Cricket Strategic Plan and Communications, Marketing and Stakeholder Engagement (CMS) targets.
- Work with and alongside key stakeholders at WA Cricket and Cricket Australia, including leading groups where necessary, to effectively share information and collaborate through planning and delivery phases.
- Design, plan and deliver event presentation/fan engagement activities (fan zone and inbowl) at W/BBL Perth Scorchers matches, including working all match days and major events.
- Lead the delivery of galas and special events such as WA Cricket Season Launch, WA Cricket Awards and Perth Scorchers Fan Day.
- Manage WA Cricket's player appearance allocation process.
- Coordinate overlay, rosters, bookings and other key documentation for Event Presentation/Fan Engagement suppliers and stakeholders.
- Recruit, coordinate and brief a team of match day casual staff.
- Manage distribution of match day giveaways.
- Collate risk management documentation and complete risk management assessments for W/BBL match day activations (e.g. pyrotechnics, fan zone activations) and provide to key stakeholders as necessary.
- Develop strong working relationships with key local government, venue and industry stakeholders to support the success of these events.
Who we are looking for
- Events Management Degree, or equivalent
- Event Management experience in a sporting, theatre, music festival or corporate setting
- Demonstrated ability and experience in delivering events and functions
- Awareness of risk identification and management within an event environment
- Proven literacy with attention to detail
- Ability to coordinate and motivate contractors, casuals and volunteers
- Strong negotiation and budgeting skills
- Ability to adapt to different people and circumstances, and handle unforeseen events in a prompt, efficient and professional manner
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Experience in event presentation coordination and delivery (desirable)
- Experience working in events in a live broadcast environment (desirable)
- Vision, lighting and audio production knowledge (desirable)
