Job Description

About the Role

The Public Transport Authority is seeking a highly skilled Service Planning Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Regional & School Bus Services division, you will play a critical role in supporting the processing of service disruptions and planning for special events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan administrative, resourcing, and logistical requirements for planned service disruptions across the metropolitan area.
  • Assist with reviews of existing bus, train, and ferry services, and conduct research, analysis, and reporting on public transport trends to inform effective service planning.
  • Supervise special events and/or service disruptions, including major rail replacement services.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of contract management and public transport issues.
  • Proven experience delivering effective information services in a customer-focused environment.
  • Working knowledge or experience of urban and regional planning.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with sound conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills, including the ability to research and evaluate information, identify trends and issues, and make recommendations. You will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a team environment and contribute to the achievement of team goals.
