THE ROLE

As a vital member of the Sofar Crew , you will be at the forefront of our events in your local area. This casual position operates within the local team and reports to the Crew Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that our events provide an exceptional experience for artists, hosts, and attendees alike.

The Crew plays a crucial role in creating the enchanting atmosphere of our shows by assisting with various tasks that make these events possible. Your efforts will help guarantee that everyone enjoys their time and maximizes their experience.

Sofar has collaborated with over 30,000 artists and welcomed more than 1,000,000 fans to our shows globally, while engaging millions more online each month. You will be part of a passionate team that is committed to fostering a culture that supports artists and introduces their music to new audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serve as the primary point of contact during events
  • Infuse positive energy and represent Sofar to all artists, guests, and hosts
  • Assist performing artists in maximizing their gig experience, including promoting merchandise and engaging with their audience
  • Collaborate with hosts and fellow crew members to set up and manage events, ensuring smooth and timely operations
  • Welcome guests, serve as an MC, and cultivate a communal atmosphere
  • Support event organization and administrative tasks leading up to the event
  • Coordinate with the local Show Experience Manager and regional operations team for scheduling
  • Help transport event supplies as needed
  • Complete detailed event recap forms to provide valuable feedback
  • Discover and enjoy a variety of new artists and music from around the globe

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in organizing live music events or similar experiences
  • Background as a musician or experience working closely with musicians in live settings
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Willingness to travel within the local area
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, particularly in dynamic environments
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Previous experience with Sofar and a genuine interest in music
  • CPR/First Aid certification is a plus
  • Capability to lift boxes weighing up to 50 lbs., with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Eligibility for employment in Australia
