Administrative Appeals Tribunal

Tribunal Services Officer:

Melbourne VIC, Brisbane QLD, Canberra ACT, Perth WA

  • We are looking for enthusiastic individuals that can exhibit a "can do" attitude with the ability to work efficiently and effectively on their own and as part of a team and are able to be flexible in meeting changing priorities and workloads in a fastpaced work environment.
  • The key duties of the position include:

  • Hearing support:Support Tribunal hearings including by providing preliminary information to participants, facilitating oaths and affirmations, and operating telephone, video conferencing and recording technology.
-
User engagement:Liaise with users of the Tribunal's services in relation to cases before the Tribunal and provide accurate procedural information. Undertake general front of house receptionist duties.

Eligibility

  • Australian citizenship as a condition of engagement. All employees are required to undertake an Australian Federal Police Check and a health assessment.

  • The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) has offices located in all states of Australia and the Australian Capital Territory and provides independent review of a wide range of administrative decisions made by the Australian Government, some nongovernment bodies and the Norfolk Island Government. On 1 July 2015 the Migration Review Tribunal, Refugee Review Tribunal and Social Security Appeals Tribunal were merged with the AAT.

The amalgamated AAT comprises a number of Divisions:
Social Services and Child Support, Migration and Refugee, and General and Other.
