The Department of Government Services is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join our CAV Legal team. As a Senior Solicitor, you will provide legal support across CAV, primarily to the Regulatory Services Division.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing specialist legal advice to investigators
- Preparing legal briefs
- Conducting litigation in various jurisdictions, including the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal, Magistrates' Court of Victoria, County Court of Victoria, Supreme Court of Victoria, and the Federal Court of Australia
You will also play a key role in enforcing Australian and Victorian consumer law, and will be part of a newly formed Renting Taskforce team that tackles poor renting conduct and increases renter confidence.
The ideal candidate will have experience in prosecuting/litigating complex and sensitive criminal and civil law cases in various jurisdictions, and will be able to manage legal work in a complex environment, including liaison with investigators and other state and federal bodies.
