About the Role
This role leads delivery of strategic and organisational initiatives within BOQ Group Retail Digital Bank ART (Agile Release Train) and supports the Groups digital banking ecosystem (which includes Bank of Queensland, Virgin Money Australia and ME Bank),


You will be responsible for orchestrating the successful delivery of SAFe Epics overseeing discovery, planning and execution leveraging agile methodologies (SAFe preferred), strategic thinking and effective communication to navigate requirements, driving cross-functional teams to success by ensuring objectives are completed within scope, timeline, and budget whilst adhering to the Bank's high standards of quality and regulatory compliance.


  • Contribute to program increment planning, aligning with the vision of the digital bank and transformation roadmap. Support content presentations and collaborating with Product Owners and Scrum Masters to plan team sprints and manage crossteam dependencies.
  • Define and sequence activities to develop and control the delivery schedule
  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring and successful delivery of SAFe epics in alignment with business objectives and strategic goals, validating and controlling scope.
  • Providing oversight and support to IT Readiness and Business Implementation activities including ITOM, workstream governance, change management, business readiness
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies that could impact delivery success, implementing mitigation strategies as needed
  • Define quality metrics providing regular updates to leadership and stakeholders on progress, roadblocks, and opportunities.
  • Coordination of partners involved in the delivery activities using delivery approach appropriate to the practice of implementation partners and required deliverables
  • Coach and mentor team members on agile practices, fostering their professional development and growth.
  • Foster enduring partnerships with our suppliers, with particular focus to deliver on bank priorities as a pivotal part of the role.

About you

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager, Senior Scrum Master or Senior project manager leading the delivery of complex project and programs
  • Background in Payment, Banking or Financial services
  • Experience with both Waterfall Project Management Methodology and Agile frameworks preferably within SAFe Agile
  • Strong coaching, consultation and negotiation skills with an ability to engage and influence external and internal stakeholders including senior management
  • Strong Third Party management experience and ability to incorporate multiple workstreams into a single delivery plan.
  • Superior time management skills and commitment to timelines allow you to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Selfmotivated and have great engagement skills enabling you to build strong connections with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong facilitation skills
  • Ability to foster a culture of innovation and creativity within the team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches
  • Strong problemsolving and decisionmaking skills, with the ability to navigate through ambiguity and uncertainty
  • Exceptional communication skills with the capacity to convey complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present actionable insights and plans
