The Network Operations Lead is responsible for leading a project stream to develop a Network Strategy and Roadmap involving network design, implementation, maintenance, and operations.


You will be responsible for driving the network strategy and roll out of Origin's growing telecommunications business, building out network capabilities and oversee the day-to-day operations.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Driving the RFP with suppliers across the value chain, to inform the development of our broadband network and infrastructure
  • Liaising with vendors, suppliers, service providers and external resources, monitoring contractual obligations and performance delivery.
  • Developing and implementing network operations processes and procedures
  • Leading a technical and operational team that provides ongoing operational support in designing, optimising, troubleshooting, diagnosing, repairing and resolving telecommunications network performance malfunctions, defects and faults.
  • Developing performance levels of hardware and software to project future needs, develops short and longterms plans for updating equipment, adding capabilities, enhancing existing systems and providing improved telecommunications.
  • Collaborating with IT to integrate network systems with other technologies, such as cloud computing and virtualisation, creating network diagrams, developing network policies and procedures, and providing technical support to users.

You will possess strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels. A solutions focussed approach is essential, as is the ability to operate in a fast paced, ambiguous environment. You're committed to a superior customer experience while providing solutions which will differentiate us from our competitors.

More about you:

  • Tertiary qualified Information Systems, Computer & Software Engineering, or appropriate industry experience
  • 810 years in Network Architecture or Engineering or Operations
  • Post graduate qualifications will be highly regarded
