Position Summary

The role of Business Strategic Advisor at FAC is crucial in supporting Indigenous entrepreneurs by providing strategic business advice and essential services for sustainable enterprises.

  • Business planning, financial forecasting, and market research are some of the services provided by the Business Advisory team.
  • By building business capability, our team aims to enhance investment readiness and scalability.
  • We offer guidance and resources to Indigenous-led businesses in various areas.
  • Supporting businesses in achieving their full potential and creating impactful and thriving ventures is our mission.

This role, which combines WFH and office work, is diverse and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed engagement plans for businesses in the FAC investment readiness pipeline.
  • Build strong relationships with Indigenous businesses and financial partners, fostering collaboration and effective communication.
  • Assist in deal structuring and negotiation through financial analysis and preparation of proposals and reports.
  • Monitor financial performance, identify risks, and provide mitigation strategies promptly.
  • Support customers during financial difficulties and restructuring requests.
  • Conduct market research and stay updated on industry trends to support FAC's enterprises.
  • Provide strategic business advisory services including planning, strategy, and financial forecasting to Indigenous enterprises.
  • Analyze financial statements, cash flow, and projections to evaluate businesses' risk profile.
  • Develop investment proposals for businesses seeking capital access.
  • Support the Women's Economic Empowerment strategy.
  • Engage and support women-led enterprises to access networks and capital.

Selection Criteria
  • Understanding of Indigenous communities, cultures, and business challenges.
  • Familiarity with Indigenous economic development and capital markets.
  • Degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in business development, planning, and financial aspects.
  • Skills in strategic planning, market research, and budget management.
  • Experience in project management.

Additional Requirements:

  • Right to work in Australia.
  • Availability for after-hours meetings or events.
  • Potential interstate travel may be required.
  • Must undergo a police check.
