About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Public Health Advisor to join our team at Health Protection NSW. As a key member of our team, you will provide high-level technical and strategic advice to managers and Executive on a range of public health issues.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to a strategic and coordinated approach to the development and provision of high-quality analysis, information, policies, procedures, guidelines, and responses to communicable disease issues.
  • Provide cross-branch advice and may be placed within any Health Protection unit to meet business needs.
  • Develop and implement effective public health strategies to prevent, control, and minimize the impact of infectious diseases.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and address public health issues and develop evidence-based solutions.
Requirements
  • Postgraduate qualifications in public health, applied epidemiology, or a related discipline.
  • Well-developed analytical skills and experience interpreting and presenting complex data and information rapidly and accurately to a range of audiences.
  • Demonstrated skills and experience in policy development and review, including the provision of expert policy advice and recommendations on complex public health issues.
  • High-level oral and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the investigation and management of public health issues, including outbreaks of infectious diseases.
