We are seeking an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Roche, a leading research-focused healthcare group. As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a critical role in providing strategic legal advice and support to our business units, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, strategic, and effective legal advice and support to our business units, including developing and implementing compliance and risk management strategies.
  • Work closely with our business partners to identify and mitigate legal and compliance risks, and to develop and implement solutions to address these risks.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, industry associations, and other external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging legal and regulatory trends and developments, and provide advice and guidance to our business units on these matters.
  • Collaborate with our internal teams to develop and implement policies and procedures that support our business objectives and ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Provide training and support to our employees on legal and compliance matters, and develop and implement programs to promote a culture of compliance within our organization.
Requirements
  • Admitted legal practitioner in Australia with a current legal practicing certificate for New South Wales or eligibility to immediately apply for such certification.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in a top-tier law firm or corporate environment, preferably in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, consumer goods, or healthcare industry.
  • Strong understanding of industry trends and updates to relevant legislation and codes, including the Medicines Australia Code, ACCC rulings, and The Therapeutic Goods Act (Medical Devices) Regulations.
  • Excellent legal drafting and negotiation capabilities, with strong business acumen and ability to communicate complex legal concepts in a clear and concise manner.
  • Previous experience working with systems and other business management software, preferably SAP.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with ability to build strong relationships with key stakeholders and communicate effectively with both internal and external partners.
