The team engages strongly and constructively with major listed entities on ESG issues; provides vital research, policy and voting advice to their members; and interacts with policymakers and regulators to support the alignment of markets with the interests of long-term investors.

About the Role Reporting to the Manager - ESG Engagement, you will be responsible for supporting ACSI's long-term goal of achieving measurable improvements in the ESG practices of the companies in which their members invest.

In this senior role, you will play a key role in producing detailed ESG research and engaging with high-level stakeholders, including executives and directors of some of Australia's largest listed companies.

Key Responsibilities Preparing research on individual S&P/ASX300 entities, and a subset of international entities, including proxy voting research on Australian equities and engagement briefings; Working with the Executive and other leaders across the business, as well as ACSI members, to set priority engagement themes and clear engagement objectives; Undertaking company engagement with S&P/ASX300 entities, including working with ACSI members and their investment managers; Assisting with communications with ACSI members on voting issues and engagement through ACSI's engagement platform including periodical reports; Contributing to thought leadership and thematic research projects in line with ACSI's strategic priorities; Support for engagement and research work in international markets as required.

Technical Skills & Qualifications Keen interest in improving the governance, transparency and sustainability in investment markets and individual companies.
Tertiary qualification in commerce, investments, law, finance, or another related discipline and ideally 5+ years of professional experience.
Ability to match ESG issues to financial risks and opportunities relevant to investors.
Ability to identify material ESG factors and their impact on investee companies.
Ability to engage constructively with senior representatives of listed companies to deliver positive ESG outcomes relevant to long-term investors.

Ideally, you will have experience within a financial institution, research team, company or a related role and knowledge of ASX300 companies.

Analytical and problem-solving skills, with the capacity to produce written reports and papers in a user-friendly style.
The ability to work within a small organisation with a flexible, cooperative approach.

Excellent priority management skills, including the ability to multi-task and take responsibility for tasks/projects to ensure they are completed thoroughly and on time.

The ability to undertake research, critically analyse and draw this information together to form a position.
A high level of comfort working in a membership-based, advocacy-focused organisation.
Possess exceptional communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills.
