Sustainability Program Lead to join our Corporate Strategy Team in our Strategy and Engagement Division on a

What you'll need to be successful:

Essential Criteria:

  • Tertiary qualifications in sustainability, environmental science, environmental engineering or other related discipline
  • Relevant experience developing and implementing corporate sustainability programs, including reporting, KPIs and performance tracking
  • Significant experience in change management, communication and project management in delivering strategic initiatives
  • High level communication, influence and negotiation skills, including business writing and presentation
  • Proven ability to collaborate and build effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including liaison across all levels of the business
  • Strong analytical skills to identify opportunities and solutions in complex issues and monitor performance over time
  • Highly developed organisational skills demonstrated through the ability to effectively manage conflicting priorities while delivering key milestones

The Challenge


As the Sustainability Program Lead, you will engage and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to develop awareness of sustainability issues and practises, improve knowledge and understanding of practical sustainability initiatives, and develop corporate strategic sustainability approaches to improve reporting, monitoring and performance across the business.


Duties include:

  • Lead the implementation of the sustainability strategy to foster a consistent culture and approach to sustainability across the business
  • Develop integrated, transparent corporate reporting in line with the Towards 2024 Business Plan, including measures, monitoring and performance and external best practises
  • Prepare, review and advise on technical information required to support the management of sustainability initiatives
  • Prepare briefings and reports for internal and external audiences, including the Hunter Water Executive Management Team and the Board
