This role is a 12 month fixed term contract

Your principal objectives in the role are to:
Provide architectural leadership in the development of new Products and capabilities within the Fixed and Mobile portfolio; &

Be the OWS (Optus Wholesale & Satellite) technical conduit and point of contact for the Renaissance 3-year cross-divisional transformation program Renaissance.


In this hands-on role, you will provide leadership, establish a reference architecture and standards (via reference architecture) for OWS products, both in flight and planned initiatives involving digital BSS / COM changes to ensure alignment and avoid a chaos architecture.

You will also ensure optimum cost of ownership, minimised expenditure, operational efficiently, outstanding customer experience and support changes to OWS product architecture into the future.


Working with Product Development and Delivery teams to appraise submitted IT architectural solutions, you will validate the proposed time and cost to ensure the solution is fit for purpose and aligned to business/customer expectations.

This is across both Fixed and Mobile product domains.


Additionally, you will partner closely with other internal teams and vendors to innovate and simplify our product architecture and ecosystem of capabilities for OWS and customers.

You will be the connection between Product Management, Product Development, Operations and our delivery partners, to ensure projects and business change is optimum and in line with industry standards

Skills, qualifications & experience:

  • Tertiary qualified in a relevant business / technical field, with postgrad studies advantageous;
  • Significant Senior Product Technology & Architecture Life Cycle experience in the Telco industry, with proven SME of both Wholesale fixed & mobile products;
  • Ability to encourage, influence and empower a diverse range of project contributors on the product and customer vision, on large multiyear transformation projects, to ensure execution team stays focused in busy periods;
  • Strong financial / analytical skills, with outstanding presentation and customer engagement ability;
  • Sound understanding of Enterprise Fixed Data, internet and Voice solutions, and understanding of Telco API standards; &
  • Robust understand of IT architectural principles and technologies.
