THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Financial Technology Manager to join our Information Technology Team in Sydney.

You will work with the global business finance team for maintenance an improvement of all the FPMS suite products as well as linked peripheral systems.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage the team of developers / analyst within the FPMS for maintenance an improvement of all the FPMS suite products as well as linked peripheral systems.
  • Work with the billing teams, trust teams and NBI teams to ensure all statutory requirements including the Australian Law Society are met and the integrity of data is balanced and maintained
  • Work with the BI reporting teams for maintenance an improvement of all the FPMS suite products as well as linked to the BI suite of products
  • Work with the auditors (PwC) for reporting and transaction process to maintain sound financial and technical practices
  • Maintain and develop all FPMS environments production, test, development, and training
  • Disaster recovery development and maintenance
  • Assist with the development and upgrade of the DMS (worksite), CHRIS21 (HR), and expense systems (Chrome River)
  • Installation of new modules or addins within the FPMS system
  • Vendor collaboration, including working directly with key vendors including Aderant / Intapp to ensure a high quality and cost effective service is delivered to the firm
  • Month end close and annual end of financial year close
  • Daily, weekly and monthly system processors such as daily recap and alerts to ensure integrity of balanced data
  • Management of Service Now support request queue, to ensure that all 3rd level customer requests related to Expert / Intapp are resolved effectively
  • Managing the team, develop the team via upskilling and training, and transferring knowledge, to ensure that customer requests can be resolved as quickly as possible

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Technical

  • Hands on experience with development and configuration in FPMS suite, including but not limited to client, matter, time entry, billing and invoicing components including Expert frameworks, Intapp integrations
  • Experience with software development lifecycle methodologies
  • Strong experience with Microsoft client side technologies, including Office and MS Reporting Services
  • Very strong experience with database platforms, including Microsoft SQL
  • Project Management skills, including experience with small to mid‐sized IT projects
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Experience working directly with a service oriented help desk, including developing procedures and training programs to upskill support team members on financial system related requests
  • 58+ years of IT management experience in FPMS integrated systems. Development, implementation, and maintenance of financial or related systems ideally Expert / Intapp or similar system
  • Graduate qualification or equivalent in Finance / Information Technology, Computer Science, or related qualification. Postgraduate qualifications desirable but not essential
Leadership and Communication

  • Proven ability to manage teams to deliver on tasks & projects work, both on time and on schedule
